UTSA Scouting
The Roadrunners enter the contest 7-14 overall and 2-1 in conference after opening the C-USA roster with a 2-1 series win at UTEP.
The Miners won Game 1 with a walk off sack fly, but UTSA was victorious in the final two games to clinch the series. Kat Ibarra and Marena Estel led the team with a .500 batting average. Ibarra recorded four runs on six hits and a solo home run. She also had two RBIs and 11 total goals. Estell had two runs on four hits and two homers, as well as five RBIs and 10 total goals.
Alexa Williams led the team in the circle with a 2.25 ERA, pitching 4.0 innings with two strikeouts.
For the season, Ibarra leads the team with a .361 batting average. The second has 20 runs on 22 hits, two doubles, three triples and four homers. Estell leads the circle with a 4.68 ERA. She is 2-5 with 11 appearances and pitched 42.1 innings with 21 strikeouts.
Scouting in the State of Texas
Texas State enters the game 12-9 overall and 1-2 in Sun Belt action. The Bobcats won their opener against Appalachian State 5-0, but fell in the final two games of the series.
Samara Lagway leads the team with a .314 batting average. Lagway and Dani Elder each have four homers on the season and 11 hits. Jessica Mullins leads the pitchers with a 2.59 ERA and a 7-6 record. She pitched 70.1 innings with 84 strikeouts.
