Get Free Health Checkups at MSU Texas Community Health Fair

WICHITA FALLS, Texas (TNN) — The 20th annual Community Health Fair will be held Friday at MSU Texas in Centennial Hall.

According to MSU Texas, the event is hosted by the Gunn College of Health Sciences and Human Services and will run from 9 a.m. to noon.

Participants can get free health checks and community members can tour the new building and learn about the programs offered.

The theme of the event is “Putting Prevention into Practice” and students from nursing, respiratory therapy, radiology, sports training, exercise physiology and dental hygiene will participate.

Screenings include blood pressure readings, blood sugar, lung function, height, weight, and body mass index; and HIV and STD testing.

Along with health screenings, participants can participate in several educational activities related to nutrition, exercise, smoking cessation, violence and abuse prevention, drug abuse prevention and Alcohol, Drinking and Driving, Stress Reduction, Dental Health, Breast Self-Examination, Emergency Preparedness, and More.

The MSU Texas press release says attendees can bring toiletries and non-perishable food items to donate to the pantry for outdated Mustangs and eyewear for the Lion’s Club. They can also donate blood and register as organ donors.
