UPDATE: The man who police say was involved in an aggravated robbery at Academy Sports on Monday has been identified ‘following multiple tips’.
TEXARKANA, Texas (KETK) – East Texas law enforcement is looking for a man charged with aggravated robbery at a Sports + Outdoors academy on Monday.
A Texarkana employee said he saw the man drop a box of ammo into his cart, then he moved the cart to another island. The man then exited the island without the cart and an employee said he had not seen the ammunition. The employee believed the man was trying to steal the item and tried to talk to him, law enforcement said.
The man then pulled a gun from the back of his pants, pointed it at the employee and told him to get out of the way, authorities said. The employee backed off and let the man leave the company. Later, the man got into a gray four-door car and headed west on Walton Drive.
Police said he was wearing a mask, but had tattoos that could identify him. He has the Browning Firearms logo tattoo of a deer head on the inside of his right forearm. He also has a different tattoo on his left arm.
Officers said they wanted to arrest the man ‘before he hurt anyone’. If anyone can identify him, they should call 903-798-3116 or Texarkana Area Crime Stoppers at 903-793-STOP.
